Heading out to INTX

With May’s long-awaited and pleasant arrival, it’s about time to shove off to Chicago for the event formerly known as The Cable Show.

NCTA’s annual conference, now billed as INTX: The Internet and Television Expo, gets underway this coming Tuesday, May 5, and continues through Thursday, May 7, at McCormick Place. You don’t have to be on the NCTA website for long to realize that more than ever this all-encompassing gathering is going to have something for everyone in this business.

Beyond its senior management representation at INTX, SCTE will be honored to be a part of “The Cable Show reimagined” through the Society’s role in Spring Technical Forum 2015. The Forum is an annual collaborative effort among CableLabs®, NCTA, and SCTE to educate attendees about the freshest cable telecommunications technologies. If you are headed to INTX, plan to catch the Forum.

Additionally, Re/code and INTXHACK are two of the compelling attractions that I hope to make time for at INTX. Each promises to be a highly educational crowd pleaser.

At INTX, my SCTE senior staff colleagues and I look forward to seeking inspiration for how SCTE can further enhance its role as the applied science component of the NCTA-CableLabs®-SCTE relationship as we look ahead to our own flagship event in the fall, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2015.

Here’s to a fine premiere of INTX in the Windy City!
